Midweek Racing with a Twist
Published :

Happy Wacky Wednesday all my awesome peeps out there!!!!!
Seems like the weekend is almost here and what’s better than to have a sweet kitty built up so we can once again indulge in our sweet pleasures.....
Racing is in the Mother City today, Below are today's tips at Kenilworth.
Race 1:
DISMANTLE THE SUN was on debut when finishing behind the latter but with natural improvement could turn the tables. AUGUSTINA could show more in his second run after gelding and INERTIA must improve to feature. Watch the newcomers! DRAGON POWER and EMPIRE GLORY have been threatening to leave the maiden ranks and on current form, both should feature prominently once more.
My Absolute Favourites : (2) Dragon Power, (7) Gold Pact
Race 2:
Hat-trick seeking BUNKER HUNT is above average but must concede weight to his highly rated stable companion who appears the pick on riding arrangements. CROWN AND COUNTRY and PRINCELESS RULER were feature-raced as juveniles and HARDCORE will improve this trip. The Drier and Snaith yards dominate the line-up but the latter's well-bred coupling is likely to dominate the finish.
My Absolute Favourites : (6) Quick Star, (2) Bunker Hunt
Race 3:
JACQUELINE was 2nd on debut in a sprint and should go close with natural improvement over this trip. Watch the betting on newcomer JE NE SAIS QUOI. Both BELLA SUMMER and FORTUNE FLIES have been finishing in the thick of things in recent starts and should do so again. They are closely matched on earlier form and there will be separating the pair here.
My Absolute Favourites : (1)Bella Summer, (6) Jacqueline
Race 4:
DANCING SALLY caught the eye over this course and distance last time when finishing ahead of GREY PRINCESS, AZIRI SUN and SPARKLING FIRE. She will have more to come so should confirm superiority over those rivals. Little separates that re-opposing trio who could prove best of the rest. EPIC STORM is held on that form but could improve with blinkers on. Watch newcomer MARY MOON
My Absolute Favourites : (1) Dancing Sally, (4) Aziri Sun
Race 5 :
PERFECTPROPORTIONS is closely related to a Grade 1 winner over 2200m so this trip may suit. DYNASTY'S BLOSSOM is capable and STILL I RISE tries ground. BARONESS MARY and RUBYANA have similar profiles and are very closely matched on the form of a recent meeting. The former edged that encounter but blinkers may eke out enough improvement from the latter who could turn the tables.
My Absolute Favourites : (1) Dynasty’s Blosso , (4) Rubyana
Race 6 :
PEARL TIARA contested a juvenile Grade 1 in her last start and is open to improvement so could pose a threat if not in need of the run. The 3yo brigade is also represented by CRUISE ALONG who can get a look in on these terms. Well-related JUNIPER SPRING was 4th in a course-and-distance Grade 2 last time on similar terms. She will take a power of beating if reproducing that run.
My Absolute Favourites : (1) Evelina, (3) Pearl Tiara
Race 7
OUR MATE ART was outpaced in a 1200m Grade 2 but will find this trip more to his liking. Both DOUBLEMINT and SILVA'S BULLET are capable sorts but have fitness concerns after rests. A NEW DAWN and WAITING FOR RAIN can get a look in Good race. SILVER MAPLE found only unbeaten Rainbow Bridge too good in a minor feature last time and races off the same mark here, so should go well.
My Absolute Favourites: (5) Kapen Pride , (2) Doublemint
Race 8
VODKA LIME, SUGERPOVA, MUMTAZ and HONEY SUITE met in a better race over the course and distance last time, and they will all be competitive if reproducing that form. The latter is best-treated on these terms and could represent the value under a claiming apprentice. CAPTAIN'S TREASURE has claims with weight off. Respect speedy CELESTINA over this trip.
My Absolute Favourites: (8) In The Stars, (6) Elle va
PA : 6,3/1/1,4/1,6/1,5,2/2,8,5/15,8,13,5
Pick 6 : 1,6/ 1,4/1,6/1,5,2,4,3/2,8,5,7,1/15,6,13,5,8
That’s all folks ....Have a wild untamed Wednesday ... See you on the flip side!!!!!

Smooth Surfs at the Turf

A lovely Saturday morning has once again bestowed us with the fresh scent of Spring nectar still in the air.
Turfontein is where we headed today for some fast-paced horse racing action and an over-ly eye-catching card I must admit.
Before we look into the meeting today I feel I should address a hot topic that’s ringing around the world of horse racing.
Being an avid South African horse racing fan, I’m often asked about my favourite horses of all time.
Without a second thought, my answer is always the incomparable PAKISTAN STAR and the Australian Juggernaut WINX.
If one has ever watched some great races with Pakistan Star you will certainly know that this horse will certainly be listed in the history books as one of the greatest finishers of all time.
Winx is a champion Australian Thoroughbred racehorse, she has won 28 consecutive stakes races including 21 Group 1s, at distances ranging from 1300 metres to 2200 metres.
Not even the likes of the Undertaker has achieved a winning streak like what WINX has done.
Recently I have noticed in many fraternities people have started bad mouthing and showing disrespect towards this legend. In my honest opinion, I admire this filly and all that she has achieved. She is honestly in a remarkable class of her own.
So what if she is not going to the Breeders Cup this year. The card there already shows a strong lineup. She has already proven that she is the best in the hearts of so many.
Aside from this I personally would love to see Winx compete in South Africa against the likes of Cascapedia, Alyaasaat or Socrat.
Well back to the Turf race meeting today we have plenty of value on today’s card
Lyle Hewitson has been in scintillating form since returning from his lengthy injury. He will be on quite a number of favourites today.

Welcome, all … the weekend is almost here so let’s make it a good one.
Today we in the heart of Gauteng for an enthralling race meeting at Turfontein.
Thoroughbreds will look to gear up ahead of the Summer Cup which is in a months’ time.
I watched Bernard Fayd'herbe yesterday in Cape Town simply show off his amazing class.
I can surely bet that Gavin Lerena will pull off the same performance up here on the Highveld today.
Two of my favorite horses will be running today, KISSABLE multiple time winner who has certainly made me a couple of bucks especially on her win on Gold Cup Day. This fast filly really looks in top form.
The other will be REDBERRY LANE, certainly a fighter and cannot be left out of your betting today.

Welcome
all to another Scintillating Sunday at the Greyville race course.
After
watching the racing at Kenilworth and Turfontein yesterday I can truly say the
fillies are certainly conquering their colt counter parts. Truely exciting time
ahead as we head into the silly season.
Anton
Marcus pulled off a marvelous double yesterday in Cape Town. He certainly
looks in form and should be backed today as well.
Donovan Dillon did pull some really huge outsiders on Friday night; he has really found
a liking to this course.
I love
the smell of hot samoosas and sumptuous bunnies that are a well known delicacy
in the heart of Durban and will go down well with all our hungry punters at the

We often take for granted the simple pleasures in life, time with the family and spending that needed hours with those that are close to you.
We have a bumper day ahead in SA today with both Fairview and Greyville on today. So why not take the family along for a relaxing time at the racecourse.
The night racing at Greyville is definitely something to write home about from the kiddie’s play areas to the delicious food stalls there's always something for everybody.
I proudly spoke about Anton Marcus at Greyville at the last meeting on Wednesday and sure enough, he did start with a bang winning the first two. Khanya Sakayi continues to be the prodigy as he has shown incredible mentally to win on some clear outsiders.
At Fairview, on the other hand, Greg Cheyne remains the best jockey at this track followed closely by Lyle Hewitson who will look to regain his form from last season.
